her Blackwell 50mm/100mm wheelset, Flow

Geelong Ironman70.3 Geelong, Victoria, Australia
Kate Major finishes 3rd!! It was a rather
cold morning and took a while for Kate to get her legs
warmed up. She came in off the bike as one of the leaders
and would hold on for third for the day. Great job for the
first race of the year, Kate! Kate proudly used her
Blackwell supplied wheels, seat, fork, and aerobars.
See her next at IMOZ and then she’ll be back in the States
training for the big show in Kona.
1/19/08 Wanaka
Challenge Lake Wanaka, New Zealand
Hillary Biscay competes in her 24th Ironman distance
race! Not only is this a great achievement, but she got 2nd
place (10:11:17), despite not having seriously trained in the
last 3 weeks. Hillary was plagued with a bit of bad luck. She
had elbow surgery less than a month ago and had blood
poisoning! Hill went into the race less prepared than she
liked, but managed to find her competitive spirit at about mile
40 on the bike. She hammered home and finished second for the
day. Way to go girl!!!
Kate Major down, but not out!! Kate was on her way to a strong bike
split when she looked down after ˝ mile out of T1 and crashed. “I
looked down for a second, not sure why and when I looked up I was on
the gutter heading for the bushes.” The bushes were covered in
thorns and after Kate dusted herself off and jumped back on the bike
she saw, “blood pouring from my face”. Major went on to say “my arms
and legs were cut to buggery from the thorns and blood was coming
from my lip and nose”. Kate went on to finish 8th. What a true
champion!!

Aussie talent and long time Blackwell athlete, Kate Major
finishes 3rd!! Kate had a spectacular day coming 3rd off the bike
and running herself into 2nd place, but would eventually finish 3rd.
Way to go Kate. Also noteworthy is Hillary Biscay. Hillary finished
20th for the day in her first world championship as a professional.
She went on to state, “It was not a brilliant race, but I was
content in knowing I had left everything I had out there.” Both
girls used the 50mm/100mm wheel combo and Performer Clip-on
Carbon with Carbon Base Wing handlebars. Kate also used the
Time Bandit Fork and Flow saddle. Hillary uses the ISM Adamo
Road saddle. Enjoy the Holiday season girls. Can’t wait till
next year!
September 9, 2007 Ironman Wisconsin
Madison, WI
Hillary Biscay podiums again! Hillary had an amazing swim, solid
bike, and held on the run to finish 2nd place. We are proud of you,
Hill. Ms. Biscay’s next event will be the Ironman World
Championships in Hawaii where she will be using a new aero base bar
we designed.
September 3, 2007 The Austin Triathlon
Austin, TX
Blackwell racer, Brandon Marsh, convincingly wins the inaugural
Austin Triathlon. The streets of downtown Austin were closed for
this Olympic distance race. After a strong swim, Marsh dominated the
bike leg and came in to T2 with a 2 minute cushion. Made for an easy
run. Congrats Brandon! Marsh proudly used his 100mm/Disc combo
and Performer Carbon Clip-ons. Brandon will be racing this
weekend at the LA Triathlon in California.
August 19, 2007 IRONMAN UK Sherborne,
United Kingdom
Blackwell’s Hillary Biscay finishes 2nd!! Hillary continues her
assault plan for the Hawaii with another amazing finish. Pre race
weather conditions delayed the start by 2 hours. Hillary exited the
frigid waters with fire in her eyes and attacked the challenging
bike course with everything she had and it showed. She was 3rd off
the bike and after a game of cat and mouse, would finish second
overall. Hillary competed the event with her Blackwell 100mm
wheels, Adamo Road saddle, and Performer Carbon Clip-ons.
August 19, 2007 Timberman Triathlon Lake
Winnipesaukee, New Hampshire
Kate Major finishes 2nd!! Major had a strong swim and bike at the
Timberman Half Ironman. She blazed into T2 in first place and
started the run with Austin’s Desiree Ficker close behind. The girls
ran the first loop together, but Kate had to gradually slow as she
is coming back from a knee injury. “Not enough running in my legs,
but after three weeks, I can’t complain”, commented a very happy
Major. Kate also went on to say, “the wheels were awesome!” Kate
proudly raced using her Blackwell Research Concord aerobar, Flow
saddle, and 100mm/Disc wheelset combo. Great job Kate. Can’t
wait till Hawaii!!
August 5, 2007 Jack’s Generic Tri Austin,
TX
Brandon and Amy Marsh win top spots in Jack’s Generic Triathlon.
This local Sprint race is put on by Austin’s own Jack and Adam’s
Bicycles. Several pros show up to polish there speed work before IM
Canada, Kentucky, and Hawaii. Brandon and Amy just returned from
racing in France and showed wonderful form by sweeping top honors in
the men’s and women’s event. Congrats you two. Amy used her
50/100mm wheel combo and Brandon chose to ride the 100/disc
combo.
July 14, 2007 Lifetime Fitness Triathlon
Minneapolis, MN
Laura Bennett finishes 6th place. Bennett attended the event more
as a supporting role for her husband (who won the event). “It’s been
a fantastic month for us” Bennett remarked. It had only been a month
earlier when Laura won the Des Moines World Cup event brining home a
200k purse! She will now focus all her efforts toward September
where she will compete in the Triathlon World Championships in
Hamburg, Germany and for a spot on the USA Olympic Team at the
Olympic Trials.
July 8, 2007 Ironman Austria Klagenfurt,
Austria
Hillary Biscay finishes 6th! USA’s Biscay had traveled to Europe
just a week before the event for 2 months of training. She hadn’t
planned on competing in the event, but remembered how, “Austria has
some of the best atmosphere and crowd support”. Biscay was the first
women to exit the water at this year’s Ironman event, thus proving
her swim prowess. The bike and run seemed a tad more daunting as
she’s taken a little time off to clear her head. But amazingly, she
completely the race in 6th place. Way to go girl!!
